VAN CORTLANDT PARK TO 225TH STREET AND THE HARLEM RIVER
Rescuing Tibbetts Brook: Charles McKinney, Eric Sanderson and SLO Architecture Principals, Amanda Schachter and Alexander Levi, guided a walk along the route of the abandoned CSX railway south to the Harlem River, the proposed path for the daylighting of Tibbetts Brook. The walk delved into the significant impact daylighting will have on communities in the Bronx who have been affected by the flooding and ecological hazards. Special guests included community activist Jacki Fisher and Anthony Rimore who described the development and expansion of the community garden at the Marble Hill Houses.
