Maintaining affordable housing sustainable is a struggle for building owners in Chinatown, with high costs and low returns. What can be done to preserve affordable housing AND ensure it is sustainable? Joyce Hwang and Prathap Ramamurthey lead a heat-mapping walk through Chinatown, followed by a conversation with local leaders and Community Land Trust activists.
The WALK with Joyce and Prathap will be leaving from Columbus Park at 5:00PM, and will last for approximately 1 hour. The WALK is publicly open and free to attend.
Participants will reconvene at a local Chinatown restaurant at 6:30PM for a conversation on Sustainable Development, Community Land Trusts and other proposals for protecting affordable housing for both Tenants and Landlords. The forum will end at 8:30pm.
It is possible to attend the Reception only if you can not make the WALK
