CALL/WALKS TOOlKIT

Over the last three years, City as Living Laboratory has been deeply invested in building a replicable framework for our innovative process of engaging artists, scientists, and communities in cross-cutting projects that help to examine, understand, and overcome urban environmental challenges.

As a part of this work, CALL has created a toolkit, which can be used by anyone to deliver our flagship public program - the CALL/WALKS. CALL envisions this toolkit as a resource that can be used by cities to help engage residents in important programs to mitigate climate change, by community groups to build their voice, and of course by artists to help make complexities approachable and tangible. You can download the toolkit here; it is free to use. For more information on becoming a part of the CALL/WALKS network email us at info@cityaslivinglab.org.

2019 Pilot national walks program report

In 2019, CALL launched our pilot national walks program, applying the learning we have built over 8 years of leading public artist/scientist walks. In this program, participating cities applied the CALL Toolkit to design a walk that was responsive to locally important environmental issues. The walks were a resounding success. You can learn more about the individual programs by downloading the Walk Report here or visiting our CALL/WALKS page to watch video documentation of the different programs that took place.
